Yannick Schindler is a Research Economist at EIT, working within the Economics Department. In this role, he conducts research that applies a mix of theory and novel empirical methods to topics at the intersection of macroeconomics, health, and longevity. Yannick is seconded part-time to the Office for National Statistics, supporting work on modeling the macroeconomic case for health investments.
Beyond his research portfolio, Yannick runs the Health and Growth workshop and steering committee within EIT's 'Prevention and UK Policy Impact' work program, building strategic relationships with UK government stakeholders. He represents EIT at major academic conferences and organizes workshops and seminars that enhance the institute's research profile in economics. Yannick works across the institute to integrate academic excellence into EIT's program framework while developing research partnerships with faculty from leading universities on projects aligned with the institute's mission. He also coordinates the department's pre-doctoral researcher program, cultivating a team of emerging economists while guiding their research contributions to EIT's initiatives.
Prior to joining EIT Oxford, Yannick held several research positions, including research fellowships at Stanford University, London Business School, and Princeton University. He co-founded and led the Applied Economics with AI (AEAI) Lab at the London School of Economics, pioneering innovative applications of AI/ML to economics research.
Yannick has extensive experience working with leading economic institutions, having previously served in expert roles for the European Central Bank and Boston Consulting Group.
Yannick holds a PhD in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science, where he also completed an MRes in Economics. Prior to his PhD, Yannick completed an MSc in Economics from University College London.
