Lizzie Robbins is the Scientific Operations Lead at the Plant Biology Institute, where she bridges scientific and operational teams to translate research priorities into effective strategies, processes, and infrastructure. In this role, she works across scientific, technical, and business functions to deliver complex projects, manage collaborations, and ensure that operational systems effectively support world-class plant science research.
Prior to joining EIT, Lizzie completed her DPhil at the University of Oxford, where she investigated the molecular evolution of the chloroplast genome in angiosperms. Her research included developing a novel computational approach to identify adaptive evolution in biological sequences. She also holds an MSci in Biochemistry from the University of Bristol.
Outside of work, Lizzie is an enthusiastic sports player who enjoys hockey and squash.
