Jo Steele is the Head of Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) at EIT, where she leads the development and implementation of EH&S strategy across both current operations and future site expansions.
Since joining EIT, Jo has played a pivotal role in establishing a robust health and safety culture from the ground up, ensuring that EH&S remains integral to every stage of the organisation’s growth and infrastructure development.
Jo brings a wealth of cross-sector experience to her role, having previously held EH&S leadership positions in a biotechnology start-up, a national logistics and distribution firm, and the pharmacy/aseptic compounding sector. Across these roles, she successfully built EH&S frameworks from inception, driving high standards of compliance and performance. Her work has been recognised through several industry accolades, including multiple consecutive ROSPA Gold Awards.
Away from the workplace, Jo enjoys travelling with her family and exploring different parts of the world. While she steers clear of extreme sports—courtesy of her health and safety mindset—she enjoys walking, cycling, and spending time outdoors in the countryside.
